Nicolai Tangen is the Chief Executive Officer of Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM), responsible for the management and development of Norway's Government Pension Fund Global, one of the world's largest sovereign wealth funds. He joined NBIM as CEO on 1 September 2020. Before joining Norges Bank, Tangen founded AKO Capital in 2005 and served as its CEO and CIO. Earlier, he was a partner and senior analyst at Egerton Capital and an equity analyst at Cazenove & Co. He also founded the AKO Foundation in 2013, supporting initiatives in education, the arts, and climate. Tangen holds a finance degree from the Wharton School, a master's degree in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art, and a master's degree in social psychology from the London School of Economics.
